These are a collection of what I can find around the suburbs where I live. A few months ago I took note of the fact I'm not seeing very many Kestrels around lately and in fact I'd only recall seeing two this summer. This one here is only the 3rd one I've seen this year. Looking into it there is a decline in their numbers and this makes me sad. It seems just last year I was seeing them pretty frequently on power lines, perched on dead trees or hovering in midair over their next potential food source. I sure hope they don't disappear for ever. Much of the open land around here in the last 30 years in I've lived here is being developed, but there is open space land set aside, but it's probably not enough to support every wild creature that would like to call this front range home.

Pretty nice pics Grant. How's Bella And Ollie doing?

GOD Bless

Chris
They're doing good. We still always get out to explore, though Bella's got a demon. Ya know any good Exorcist that can cast demons out of dog's?

She gets those all the time. Ollie's unsure about those mud nest the swallows build up in the corners of these underpass's. They do look like odd creatures with a big open mouth. He just wants to make sure it ain't something that's gonna come down and try to get us.

Great photos! What kind of flowers are those in the two pics?

I've got an idea. Maybe Bless Bella's water.

I don't know what those are. The white flower grows on a plant that has leaves and thorns like a thistle, and the petals of the flower are as thin as tissue paper, that slightest breeze blows them around and grow here and there in the dry and arid ground of a prairie dog town. The other pink flowers grow in the wet ground of the outer perimeter of a cattail mash. It has a stem and leaves like a Lilly plant. Those don't bloom very long at all, maybe three or four days from what I've observed.
