Has anyone seen a bag seal like this before? I’m not sure that it even is a seal. It’s a flat piece of lead and appears to have a rabbit holding something in its hands. It’s about a half inch in diameter and a 1/4 inch thick. Pulled from a mid 1800’s site. Any help is appreciated! I’ll try to upload better pictures!

Good morning Nick, sharper photos of the front and back with a size reference would help immensely, cool find!!

Am I the only one that cant see the rabbit? Looks like a lead seal

I had to look at it for a minute but I do see what the OP would consider a rabbit. Whether it is one or just a coincidence, I don't know. I can't remember ever seeing a bale seal with holes that large or shape.
The rabbit's head is at the 12 O'clock position with the ears pointing towards 11 O'clock. Main body is at the 9 O'clock position.

I’m not seeing a rabbit either? Aren’t most seals a little more white in color?

Sorry I dont see a rabbit.

Looks like a lead electric meter seal, the old wire type. Same size; it even has 2 holes in it.

Similar to this modern type

He has no feet? I hope what he is seeing is better than that lol. Thats really stretching it. But thanks for describing it. I am now more convinced there is no rabbit.
