did some sifting last weekend and came up with a few goodies. I can usually count on pipe frags and round balls at this site as well as old forged nails. One thing that has not shown up here has been military buttons with the exception of a pewter underwear button from the Third Seminole War. The site had two occupations, one from the Seminole War in '57-'58 and a brief camp from a US Colored Troop in 1864. So I was excited to see this button, backmarked Scovills and Co. puts it at both time frames. However the I on the shield narrows it down to the CW where the regiment here was Infantry, whereas the Army here in '58 was Artillery. I would be happy either way though. Thanks for lookin, vn
