I am new to detecting in N.W. and am a Boy Scout leader. I am looking for places where I can take the scouts. Anywhere in Maumee? Along the river?

First of all welcome. I live in Wood County and I do know that any county park within Lucas or Wood County is off-limits to detecting. Your best bet is to find private property. Hopefully this is of some help best of luck.

Old Boy Scout Camps are good places to detect. You shouldn't have any problem getting access if they are still in use.

Welcome to Tnet!

I like Steve in PA post. Being in Boy Scouts, their camps would be great. You could also ask local campgrounds. Some may let you because it will clean up trash from the grounds. You will dig a lot of trash though. I had some friends get permission to detect camp perry last year. You could try that one also. I know it?s not along the Maumee, but it is fairly close.

Welcome from a NE Ohio member, Along the Maumee would be good places to look. Try and locate flat places on a little higher groujnd a bit away from the river 9Not far) and where smaller streams dumped into the Maumee
