For what it is worth, I would keep the platinum for now. Nice payout but PLATINUM is more rare then gold. Some argue currently undervalued, I really don't know but I would keep it. Great job and nice finds. HH

On platinum the payout from refineries is usually at least 5% lower percentage than gold for some reason.

Sell it...they look just like silver. I never understood wearing platinum or white gold...you can wear a silver and it looks exactly the same.

As Lookindown said you should keep it for mow. If you do decide to sell it, send it to ARA Refineries instead of a pawn shop. ARA will pay about 98% of spot. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Could it be that it is harder to refine? Or maybe because it's so heavy they need a forklift for a few rings!
I think it's the difference in melt temperature. Platinum melts at 3215 deg. F and gold will melt at 1948 deg.F ... I'm thinking more fuel is required to refine platinum.

Unless you need the cash, I would keep it. I hang on to anything of value or interest just because to me it's treasure and more than that, I did the work to recover it so unless there is something to lead me to the person that lost it, it's mine! I'm by no means a hoarder but my digs are mine; can ya dig it? Hate to sell any of it. As can be witnessed by my big jar of pennies.
