A few weeks ago I was on Vacation in Vergennes, Vt. I did a lot of detecting while home, but made the best discoveries in my parents front and back yard. The front yard yielded an 1847 Large cent and the back yard yielded this coin. :dontknow: I'm not sure what year this coin is, but it looks old. I've only been able to get any detail off the side you can see in the pictures. The other side is worn smooth. I'm sure the weight of the coin is off some. I imagine the coin is about 1/2 to 3/4 the original thickness. Anyway, I thought someone out there might recognize the bust on the front side of the coin and be able to give me an idea what this is. Sure wish I had a date, but I'll take a ballpark if someone can help. Thank you and Happy Hunting!!!

Looks like a Spanish carolus iii dei gratia from the the late 1700's. Of course I'm only guessing by seeing the front.

I truly have NO clue :dontknow:, I do not see anything this old in Colorado. Buut ,looked through the Red Book and under Vermont, found this coin, 1788 or 1787 Georgivs III Rex,maybe its one of these. I'm sure someone much more knowledgable will help. HH PPC Good job :icon_thumright:
