Please Help ID The Age and Type of This Buckle

Found this buckle in my backyard at a good 6 inches deep. I don't think this buckle is too old, but I could be wrong. Please tell me if you know the age, or the type of buckle I have here. Thank you. Sorry about the title, I couldn't change it.

I think Duggap is on to something there... It looks like the thing in the center of the back is the receiving end of a snap, which would put this somewhere in the 20th century.

After downloading and lightning the pic, it looks more like a buckle than a snap. I don't think it is girdle related because they were made from rubberized material, and those that had 'buckles,' were used to hold up nylon stockings, which looked like men's sock garter hooks.

It looks like a cinch type buckle where the strap (probably not leather, more like cotton) followed the path I've drawn in yellow, and the 2 teeth held it in place.

Interesting find :)
