I found this coin in a field in Europe that dates back to the mid 1600s.
I honestly don't know what it is made of. It looks silver in colour and is very heavy but has corrosion like a coin that is made out of copper. I feel it could just be low quality silver.
It is around 32 mm in diameter (give or take.)
The inscription that is legible reads BERT. I also believe there to be a 2 in the middle of the coin (but could be wrong) on that side.
The other side has no legible inscription.
Any help is appreciated

Thank You

The field may possibly be almost as old as Germany ;)

35744104_131212596_2200.jpg I doubt it is but the thickness of it and the size just reminds me so much of an early american copper. Especially since the bert can be liberty. And in the first pic i thought i could make out some sort of reef. Just dont know why it would be in England.

Tough one. Looked around with no results.

It has enough detail, I think if you can get some of the crud off the side with the letters we might be able to ID it.

Looks like there's also some more words on the top of the first pic. I see at least an L

Edit: ^^ might be bottom left of first pic, my computer rotates photos in the previews for some reason.

Thank you so much DCMatt!
You have no idea how much time I have spent researching this and you just gave me the ID.
