Indeed, there ARE treasures all around you. I won't guess where...!
Anyway, there are many electronics sources, that offer metal detectors, with sensors
that can sniff-out metal real well.
The larger the heap of precious metal the deeper these machines can reach.

2 things come to mind:

1: Google up "large loop" metal detectors. You could make your own. I saw guys tow one looking for and finding meteors.

2: resistivity equipment, a geophysical tool.
