Maybe it's metal slag? it is half composed of iron and half of stone.

It does look like frozen dog doodie and a slag melt. Meteorites generally don't have the "knobs" like your piece does. Meteorites are tough for me to ID.

I'm going to guess you found that in Australia :) I've found many of them in WA, its a Fulgurite. They are created by lighting strikes and are a molten sand. WA has a lot of iron and magnetite in the soil so they tend to be magnetic there. Basically a frozen form of lighting is how I think of them. Some can be quite colorful. Based on appearance, fulgurite is a pretty good guess, and I have no reason to argue it. In fact, these can be found throughout the world, particularly where lightning strikes are plentiful. This could be what you have.

One thing that is certain is the your item is NOT a meteorite.
