anybody have any good links for a beginning rock hound? mainly on how to identify your finds? theres just sooooo much to geology to learn and am not sure where to start.

I don't remember which one, but a basic book in mineralogy should help you learn to ID finds.
I'll look it up, unless someone beats me to it!

Mindat is a great site to look for locations. I've always done geology, but never travelled or rock hounded. I am beginning now and I find this site useful.
