According to Goggle Earth, it looks to as if the location is in the vicinity of the Brigham City airport, but I think it's more likely that the hotsprings in the picture are near Rocky Point, at the foot of the mountain close to the northern Weber County/Box Elder County line. There was a small hot springs resort in that location in the fifties. I recall swimming there as a boy. It was a larger resort decades before, too. Today there is a hydrothermal project there. I don't know if they would allow detecting there.
Another possibility is up Weber Canyon in Morgan. There was a larger hot springs resort there called Como Springs. It went through a number of changes in the seventies on through becoming a mineral water plant in the eighties but that's all gone now. What's left is closed to public access.
