Found this in a very old neighborhood almost 2 feet deep! Almost gave up on it but finally pulled it out.
No idea what it is but you can see the coin imprints on it! Could it be a thing that was used for melting down coins? Any ideas are appreciated! I don't think that would be the ladle, but rather something that was melted.

Looks like a piece of lead used for sealing pipes. Piece of pipe made the round marks. What is the material? Lead? Brass? Tin?

I have found Blobs of lead with coin imprints on them before. Also seen others posted here. Never knew what they were for. The imprint I can see on there has stars around it it must be from an old coin for sure

If it is not made of lead it might be silver melted down and that could be an embedded coin hard to tell in the pictures weather the coin is an impression or in relief

That is interesting you have found some similar items! The coin is imprinted that is why I wondered if it was melted on it? It rang up like silver when I found it but I dont have a silver testing kit or anything. I wish I could figure out what coin is imprinted in it! There is actually a second one on there that is much harder to see

Look at some pictures of old coins like seated quarters some of them have five-pointed stars and others six-pointed Stars you can narrow it down that way
