I got permission to hunt an 81 yr. old ladies property today. She was a sweetheart and gave me permission to hunt all of her 280 acre property. Her home stands after being built in 1855 and the surrounding properties all have military presence from 1775 with homes still standing. Two signals into field out pops the buckle pictured. I was overjoyed! It was at 10" and has great patina! Anyone give me a date for this? Then a few minutes later the disc of brass with the great seal comes out. Heavy and looks like maybe for a buckle piece??? The other pieces I found was a lead button and a whatzit? Had a great time and will be going back soon!

Yes, your quarter sized washers are curtain hem weights, that buckle has been posted a few times by others and the most common reply was that they are bridle related. keep checking that spot, there may be a batwing buckle in there someplace.
