full size apex pick, stock 3 super mags,is hd.would like a hodan pick with the concave scoop edges, probably easier to clean out those deeper dig holes.but, made in idaho and goes through solid rock when necessary.has stood up to 3 abusive years as my main digger.pulse induction digger.

This is the ULTIMATE digging tool. The "Hermit Pick" made in Arizona for gold detecting and rockhounding
With the shovel type head and the strong pick on the rear this is the way to go , and also....
the newest mini that fits in yer hammer holder belt clip. Its called the Burro pick can be seen at the link below.
Both can be bought with a super magnet on them.

Hi guys, Here is my weapon for exposing those gold nuggets from the grips of mother nature.

I drilled a hole in the end of the handle & glued in a rear earth magnet for picking up any ferreous metal.

Interesting looking scratcher.

Here's the pick I use, the ESTWING® Geo Paleo Pick™ Hoe-Pick:

ESTWING-Geo-Paleo-Pick-BEN-_i_lbw134695S.jpg

It's about 26" long and is really light and easy on your arms. Don't let that fool you; I've gone through 5" of cold asphalt with this thing in about a minute.

I've sold my full size pick long ago as ineffective compared to this tool.

Warning: DO NOT borrow it out; you won't get it back.

I use just a large full size pick from lowes. A hoe on 1 side and a sharp point on another, just a regular full size pick. $20. As far as magnets, I had some old car audio speakers and use the 4in. round magnet from that. It's pretty strong. My tool works great, especially on a budget. I try to post pics of it later.
Good luck and HH.
