Sorry if this seems like a silly post in advance, but a recent find for AUD $1 was a Kids Meal / Happy Meal Toy which ended up selling for AUD $30 (Hungry Jack's Jurassic Park 1992) . Just a tip to keep a lookout for these, especially if they're unopened and are 20 years old or more. A lot of people would never consider the items to be worth anything, but they're something that pop up in bunches occassionally (up to 10+). I picked up 10 for $10 on Sunday, but this was one of the better ones.

*Sorry for no photos!* Check out SOLD hand painted needlepoint canvases online to see what they go for!

Recent rummage sale purchase was a large plastic tote FILLED with hand painted needlepoint canvases. Probably 50-60 canvases? I knelt down to look at them and to see what the sign on the bin said, figuring it was probably a per piece price... nope! It said "All for $8.00". Just as I was getting super excited the seller sees me looking and says "Oh, my gosh you can have it for $3.00... I just want to be rid of them!" Don't need to do any more convincing! So per piece price is pennies!

So far they've all sold in the $30-$40 range/each. Barely scratched the surface and already almost $200 sold.

Bonus of course is that they're lightweight and non-breakable so easy shipping.

Needlepoint stuff can be very, very good to you - embroidery thread, handpainted canvases (especially signed/known designer), kits, good wooden hoops (Duchess, Princess, Royal, Queen - if felt-lined check that felt isn't moth chewed). Most can be found relatively cheaply as well.

Just an update that the running total on the $3 bin purchase is currently at $473.50!

Picked up a bunch of CDs from a local thrift for 55 cents each early last week. I sold a lot of 21 for $102, a lot of 14 for $56, and a Rush limited edition CD for $49.50. I've got several more listed in the $25-50 each range that haven't sold yet.

Bought 4 paper weights for a $1. One was signed. Thought I might get $8 each at the antique mall I’m in. The signed one though...

Rusty Tools

I knew this yard sale would be memorable when the seller responded "dollar" when I asked the price of the Beatty cleaver.
Twenty two items for $20.00. The large socket wrench, was a one inch drive Williams , and sold for 49.95. The socket on the 3/4 inch drive breaker bar was a Snap-on and sold for $30.00. These were good quality tools: Beatty drawknife, S-K breaker bar, Proto sockets, Stanley drill bits, Plumb hammers, Ridgid bender and pipe cutter. Many sold for between 10.00 and 25.00. I thus far have kept the scale. Sorry for the photography, I took a few pictures for myself, and I didn't plan on posting these when I took them.

I bought this NAVSEA paperweight at a flea market for $1. Didn't do as well as Beachkid's, but I'm happy, sold it for $46.09.

I usually avoid Hallmark ornaments since I don't really know anything, but this new in box was at a everything's a dollar sale. Sold it for $50 and probably could have gotten more if I didn't go for the quick flip. IMG_6053-1_edited-1.JPG

I bought a bunch of these for 50 cents each. I figured I would sell them as a lot. I think there were 7 seasons if I remember correctly. Instead of selling as a lot, I sold them individually for 15 to 20 dollars each.

I bought USA Miracle on Ice 1980 book for 10 cents and recently sold it on ebay for $12 netting about $8

I bought because I thought it was cool, then decided to see what I could get for it.

This was in a tub of toys for AUD $25 so I guess it counts. Everybody keep an eye out for 1990s to early 2000s electronic pets. The one attached did not have a back cover either.

Good to know. I saw one the other day & didn't bother to pick it up. Now I'm telling myself it wasn't one of the old ones....
