A yard seller GAVE this camera to me a couple of months ago. She said it didn't work any more so she figured it was worthless. She was right about the body but I sold the lens last week for $49.99.
Yesterday I bought an ion vhs to mp3 player / changer. Paid $1 because it is complete with everything except the cd. With the cd they sell used for $200. I will try to buy the cd from the company. If not, the buyer can save $50 and download the drivers.
A few weeks ago I picked up two Texas Instruments graphing calculators for a buck each at a garage sale. I sold one of them for $39.99 on Ebay. The other I am saving for my son who will need it for college soon. This weekend I picked up two Twin Packs of HP printer ink (four cartridges- color and black and white) for $1.00. Together they should bring me over $50. I would have never thought about looking for these types of items until I joined this great site!
Whelp all Ninja Magazines sold(13 of them), ended up getting almost $330 for all of them. One of them even went for $122 with most for for $20-$30! As for the license plates sold about 20 of them from the late 20's through the 30's and ended up at around $600 profit with one selling for $191 and another for $151! Not a bad pick up for $16
I got these 2 sterling silver bracelets that are Milor brand and are made in Italy. They were lying next to a bunch of junk jewelry at a garage sale. I picked them up for 25¢ a piece! They have a combined weight of 19.05 grams.
Bought this small bowl at GW Thrift for 59 cents. I almost didn't buy it because it is so thin, it looks plastic. The yellow mark on the bottom is the .59 cents wax pencil mark.
Bought three things today for dollar each except for the brass key holder was a quarter. The micromachines excel around 10 the pie server looks to sell around 20 to 30. And I'm going to try to get 30 for the keyholder as well!
I'm thinking the keyholder probably won't be listed for very long! one can hope!!!
I bought a lot of lures for $2 each. It's not $1 but I still figured you guys may want to hear about this. It ended up one of them was a rare color, and it sold for $257 with 2 other more common lures in the lot! I was proud of that!
Bought this Pan American Airlines water pitcher at a yard sale for $1. Listed on ebay last night at $55 obo + shipping. Has 3 watchers in less than 12 hours.
I'm not doing much buying these days as I'm trying to reduce the volume of stuff around here. However, a couple of weeks ago, I went to an estate sale. It was late in the day and things were pretty well picked over. However, I picked up this 1940s railroad dining car breakfast menu for a $1. It sold last night for $53.
Had this been in perfect condition, it might have brought upwards of $200 but the folds and stains likely hurt the value significantly. I bought it because of the subject matter (railroad stuff is always popular), the age (note the "Buy War Bonds" promotion on the menu), and the great graphics.
