Howdy fellow THer's,
I was looking at some of the posts lately, and it is true... you just don't forget that first
gold ring that you popped out of the ground. It's a magical thing. What else would get a
person to dig a zillion pull tabs, for that one glint of gold against the black dirt!!
Well, here is my first. It was found in the mid 80's with a Whites 6000 D Series 2.
Found in the yard of a home demolition, before they tore the house down. I almost
didn't dig it, but it just sounded a little bit different... and am I glad I did. From the
day this little cutie saw light again, it's been on my pinky finger. Since then, I've found
lots of gold rings, some with diamonds, some bigger, but this one is my favorite!! :)
Well, let's see everyones first gold ring!

This is my first and only gold ring so far. It's a little girls two tone 10k gold ring.
I found it on a soccer field, right between the goal posts, and about 3" down. Some little girl, years ago, was very sad to lose this ring I'm sure. But I take pleasure in knowing that another little girl is enjoying it now....my 7 yr. old daughter.

Ima
(sorry for bad pic.)

Great idea...I can't post my first one because it was probably around 30 years ago and I sold that stuff to buy my first metal detector, a Garrett Deep Seeker...Here's my last one and it's the only gold ring I've found this year.

Here's the first and only gold ring I have found. I do not target beaches or parks so this was a surprise. I was deep in the woods in an area which did not appear to have any significance and out popped this...

My first ring was a sterling baby ring that I found at a tot lot. I found my first gold, a 14K wedding band, at the beach. No, not during the summer... it was at the beginning of February in 2005 :)

Here is my first 14k gold Ring. Had it tested because it is not marked anywhere on the ring. Found it near a soccer field. It came up as a Nickel on the Ace 250.

My first gold ring was the Panther ring at the bottom of the pic. I found that one in 2005 and within a year and a half i had another 23 gold rings to add to my stash.

First (and only so far) gold ring.
Found with my son in our backyard. Returned to it's rightful owner about 3 days later via the magic of the internet search engine.
10K class ring, class of 1992, with topaz stone. Owner (former home owner's daughter) said she lost it shortly after graduating, so in the ground for about 15 years.

Well here is mine.

I'll never forget the day. I went to visit a uncle of mine about 5 yrs ago. He had a abandoned house across the creek from where he lived.

I was over there hunting doing alright. Finding wheats a merc here and there. A bunch of bullet casings ect...

When I get a +46 on the dfx. I dig down 5 inches and out pops this beautiful ring. It fit my finger like a glove. It is still my favorite dug ring.

It's not worth the most. But it's my favorite one. It weighs around 10.5 grams. It is 10k. It has a semi precious black hematite in it. It's about 40 yrs old.

Here a a few others I have found in the last 5 yrs.

I can't picture it as I gave it to the Farmers wife.

It was a 22 cwt gold 'Posy' Ring with scrollie design on it. Dated to 1580-1620. On the inside it had 'LET VERTVE BE THEE GVIDE'. (Old English). £1000 ($2000) worth.
