That may be a hard one, I know that certain tribal groups did have their distinctive pottery styles. I would imagine that certain individuals within each group would have their own style or design.

I don't see why not...guess it depends on the individuals like old digger said. And who's to say that maybe the "artist" didn't even leave their "mark" in some manner that we don't realize yet? Does make you wonder...:thumbsup:

yes there is some truth to that but the subject is so broad just in our area of intrasite variations that
include time periods, rim designs, sizes, types of impression.....and so many things involved
for example on my last pottery post all of those designs were all mixed together in an area no bigger than a 100 foot square
it is a very interesting and complex subject and i barely understand it
