So far from the red ochre here in the midwest-great lakes region.

Your pics show one Clovis point I recognize. A mystery to me where the Clovis people came from and thier eventual disappearance. But they too used red ochre no doubt.
Then leaves me wondering if the ochre use later is by chance , or passed down /shared earlier.
It's use elsewhere in the world early on can be a hint , both for and against a commonality....

Great post Fat..this is the only piece I saved from site8-P12, Clearwater,..A Weeden island site..I always thought traded from way north of here, Also used to paint some pottery
