I went to my uncles house up the street from me for an hour hunt. The yard is shared with my grams house who recently passed away. My family have lived in both houses since the early 1900s. I have had a few uncles and my grandfather has been in the service. I'm hoping it is some type of war medal, but my mother has also brought up the bird looks more like a dove than eagle to her. She thinks it something from church. I think it's copper or brass. It looks like something else was attached to the front or it. It has a wreath on it with a bow on the bottom. I also found 3 matchbox cars and clad, but any info on the mystery item is much appreciated! Any pictures of something similar would be a lot of help.

Also the "bird" is carrying arrows

It's a watchfob, there was probably an applied logo piece in the circular area. I've seen a couple similar ones that were Grand Army of the Republic veterans pieces.

thank you! I'll look into it!

Any date or timeline for the piece?

That's a very nice find. Hopefully you can tie it in to your family's history.

Well, I looked for a bit and couldn't find an exact match..... However, here's a Herbert Hoover campaign fob that's really close. The inner wreath is different, but it gives an idea of what your may have looked like.

Look at some old family photos...see if someone has this hanging out of their watch pocket. Nice finds!

That does look pretty close.

If you google FFA it looks like their symbol it could have been a medal awarded to one of your family members.Upon looking at yours more I see it has a wreath around it whereas the FFA symbol has a cob of corn sorry my mistake.
