Precognitive Dreams

Anyone besides me have dreams that occur BEFORE major events, that make absolutely NO SENSE at all - until say a week later AFTER the event? :icon_scratch: :dontknow:

I see no worthwhile purpose in such dreams... there is never enough info to prevent the event - and knowing before hand something terrible that you cannot stop seems like an unfair burden to me.

I don't get these often sometimes many years apart between them.

The last one was in relation to a prayer I made for "info" about a missing persons case that I've been investigating now for nearly 2 years with some progress but no solution as yet (The girls been missing 11 years now).

I dreamed just before awakening the next morning, a clear voice message to me in plain English, that I remembered clearly as soon I awoke, which is always significant - I might dream a lot, but seldom if ever, remember a dream after awaking.

In this case - the message made absolutely no sense at all, in relation to the missing girl case about which I asked - and despite my best efforts to establish some logical connection, bore no relevance at all - leaving me somewhat confused / disappointed.

I week later there was a murder in a neighboring state, and then the message made complete sense - a couple and their 16 year old daughter brutally murdered in their house, by a 18 year old who the daughter had upset in some way.

I had the victims surnames and first name of the boy who committed the murder and why.....but no way to know where, or when, the crime would be committed.

It seems to be, in no way connected to the reason for my request, or the actual crime (for example - the missing girl case is 11 years old - the 18 year old cannot be the murderer of the missing girl because at age 18 now, he would have been only 7 years old, at the time she went missing, and many thousands of miles away).

I find it very frustrating the way precognitive dreams seem to occur for me.

It is not a God given "gift" or "skill" that seems to bear any worthwhile purpose in terms of helping my fellow man, or indeed me, and it only happens sometimes a decade apart when i make a conscious decision to be in a receptive frame of mind when going to sleep, because I am expecting to receive a reply to one of my questions, and then the answer seldom bears any relation to my question.

You could say it is akin to expecting a phone call and being ready to answer the phone and when it comes, it turns out to be a crossed line, and the message I get, is obviously meant for someone else, but I have no idea who, where, or when.

Frustrating is about all I can say.

Anyone know more about this phenomena of precognitive dreams? - it's something my Mother also lived with all her life.

She would dream it, and a week or so later, - it would be front page headlines in the newspaper, - but at the time made absolutely NO SENSE!

I once had something like this occur, when I was awake - but the import of it, made no sense at all, for another 20 years, and that time it WAS very significant for me personally, but again, it's significance was not at all clear, until after the event - meaning whats the point because I was unable to prevent it?.

Anyone?

I have had this happen to me a few times also. I woke up late one night, looked at the tv, heard them announce on tv that an actress had died. I changed the channel because I missed what she had died of. Didnt find anything on the other channels. Nobody was home until the morning when my daughter came home. I asked her if she had heard the news about the actress, she said she hadn't. Three days later both her and I were home and they announced that the actress had died on this day. She looked at me and said didnt you tell me this happened a few days ago. No answer for these things when they happen. I think we need to keep a journal of the things we dream of, with the date on it, discuss it with family every once in awhile so that when they do come true we have a record of our precognitive dreams or thoughts or visions or whatever you want to call them.

I'm the 3rd generation that I know of who this happens too in my family - its ALWAYS 10 days exactly ahead of the event, and has been so for my great aunt & then mother before me.

There's no explaining it, that I'm aware of.

If it served a valid purpose maybe it would have some value, but other than to maybe shed some kind of light on the phenomenon of "time" I cannot think of one.

How or why the 10 days fits in I have no idea.

Cheers

Eddie, you indicated you have to setup a receptive situation, in most cases, before you get a precog dream. Unless they bother you a whole bunch, I would start to practice a receptive mood every night and document whatever you can pull out of the memory on waking. Over time, I suspect that the re-enforcement of the practice will make it easier, and perhaps even more meaningful. As you develop a set of documentation that helps identify the circumstances of many dreams over an extended period, you will probably discover patterns that today you are missing due to the infrequent nature of the occurrence.

Best of luck and try to look at it as a gift rather then a chore.

I guess I could try that.

Here's a recent one....that I've had twice now.

As a kid I was conceived born and raised at a time when the city added flouride to the water to ensure that kids got good teeth developed while in the womb - I guess to cut down on the public cost of dentistry after they are born!.

As a result I have wonderfull teeth - almost no maintenance teeth - strong and almost zero cavities in 50 odd years.

So the recurring dream I had twice in successive days?

My teeth are all comming loose in my gums and falling out - as I open my mouth handfulls fall out into my hand and it seems to feel somehow "better" when they are out - i'm glad they are out in the dream and it's more than one episode - I just get the loose bad teeth out, and then others get loose and want to come out, so I spit out another handfull - more teeth than are in my head in fact!.

Old mum says it's because I'm stuck in a rut / frustrated and feel like a "toothless tiger"....damne if I know!

I'll start trying to remember more of them, I guess.

Cheers

Not Really Bill,

I'm stuck in a rut, with a now 2 year long investigation, into a missing persons cold case.

Been gnawing away at this one for a long time and don't seem to be making the progress I would like.

Having said that - I've been surprised at what I've learned along the way, and have an interest in another missing persons case, and by applying what I've learned on one case, - to the other case, I seem to be making much more progress with that one!.

Life has funny ways of working itself out sometimes.

I'm trying to learn to "roll with the punches".

Cheers

Sometimes dreams are left for interpretation. Dreams of spiting out teeth basically deal with your personal health. Take that one step further, problems with teeth have also been connected to problems with the heart. May I suggest a checkup with your doctor to be on the safe side. :icon_thumleft:

I was living in Las Vegas in 1995, when a group of precognitive dreams occurred. These dreams happened in a relatively short period of time. The clarity and continuity was unbelievable.
The first one was of my next door neighbor (a young lady) attempting to commit suicide. The dream was so real that I woke up and sat on the side of my bed, a little shaken. The time was about 3:40 in the morning. I lay back down, and eventually drifted back to sleep. Some time passed, and I was awoken again. This time I noticed flashing lights outside my apartment in front of my neighbors place. They were taking her out.

The next dream involved a close friend and his wife who had come to Tucson for the Gem and Mineral show. He called and said they would be arriving in Las Vegas the next day at 12:00, and asked if I could meet them. I lived very close to McCarren Airport, and I had already arranged a room at the casino where I was working, so it was easy for me to pick them up. In my dream, I saw the plane pull away from the gate, but I was uneasy about the flight. Something on the plane BROKE, and I woke up without any resolution as to what had happened. I went to the airport at the appointed time, and went to the gate. The flight information said that the plane was on time. It did not arrive. I waited for 40 min., and then went to the ticket counter, where I asked about the flight. I was told that they did not know where the plane was or it’s status. I then went back to the gate and waited for a total of 1 hour. The flight finally arrived, and my friends were the very last ones off the plane. Both were a little pale and nervous. I asked what had happened, and these were his exact words. “ The plane BROKE”.

The last dream in this sequence was a very unnerving, and personal experience. In the dream, I saw a family member in a desperate situation that I could not comprehend. I saw a pistol, and then many police, and I was highly agitated. That morning at work I told a co-worker that something bad had happened to a member of my family. I worked in a casino, and it was very difficult to get phone messages to me. After I got home from work, I got a call from my mother informing me that my aunt had killed herself with a pistol.

I have had other dreams that were similar since, but not in sequence like those.
