]In order to see photo you will have to enlarge to do so . My brother in law demos old homes and called and asked me if I wanted a bunch of old scrap books found before house was demolished. I started going thru the books and happen up on a civil war veterans pic and some info about him. I removed the picture and it had been copied when don't know but it seems a family member was doing research and had everything copied then left it all behind when he or she moved out. Hope all who view can see picture along with the stats. Also another veteran in uniform name Albert James Beard Dartt from 1840-1870. I will post pic of him later. I am happy these were not discarded in the trash never know what you will find in someone else trash. The pictures were already cut just wanted to let everyone know. I have included 2 more photos the first picture was with the info on Private Steele older it seems and the other is a photo of Albert James Beard Dartt and I tried to see what type uniform Mr. Dartt is wearing but could not make it out. vanzutphen

Mackaydon .I have yet to research to find anyone connected to Private William Steele. This was the only copy left and whoever had photo copied these on Kodak photo paper where either sending out to relatives or his family. I will be in the process of calling around in the pa area that he was from to try to make a connection. Why someone would leave all this behind is beyond me and if you go back to my first post on Private Steele I have included another photo of him older that was beside his enlistment picture.

Sweet saves! Love reading the stories of civil war soldiers.
House demos can yield substantial artifacts.

Now that was certainly a great save...something that couldn't be found again once thrown out in the trash...:icon_thumright::icon_thumright::icon_thumright:
