I hope I can be a greedy rich guy someday! :occasion14: Guess I'll just have to keep buying that weekly lottery ticket till I do..

I wouldn't mind being rich also, but greed is not my thing. Never had any luck with the lotto either! Frank...

PS: Maybe you can find the Dutchman's balls. They are just NW of the Imperial in those mountians.
Or maybe those potato size ones on Rich hill. Hay, same chance as the lotto!

Here's my view! I have been around for 76 years and I have seen a big change in the people. It use to be that kids sought instant and prolonged gratification, but they grew out of it to be a real part of the big picture of advancing this country. They earned their way to a good life.

Now a days, the picture has shifted. For to many the instant gratification desire has not changed. This is happening on the low end free lunch crowd which seeks free food, lodging, cell smart phones, etc. The bad part is it is happening at the top end also. We have more Millionaires and Billionaires than ever before and they want more. It is a game of who dies with the most wins.
The sad part is they are hoarding the wealth of the country. Sure they give to charity or foundation, but this is to get even more money via deductions. They don't give back in reality! Just think, where did they get this money, why wasn't more given to the actual workers that made this wealth possible?

The thing is in economics, the money must cycle or the wheel stops turning. The move to manufacturing overseas was the beginning of our decent. Sure items would be cheaper, but the profit was all going upstaires. Look at the CEO's and COO's etc. they are sucking up millions while the workers are getting less.

I can see this happening! I posted a while back that in a business class it was stated that a fair profit was cost + 100% markup. Someone replied that it was as much as you could get. See my point? It brings to mind the story of the goose that layed the golden egg.

Just my thoughts, Frank...<img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=968015"/>

You are absolutely correct..
Govt and corporate greed is what's driving this country into the ground..
And I don't see it getting better..
It's going to collapse on it self eventually.
It's just a question of when and they know it...
That's why the Govt is prepping for martial law.. Militarizing the police and Stationing UN troops throughout the country..
The only way to fix this is a hard reset..
Elections are pretty much rigged.
And the people of this country are so pacified it will never happen..
Their going to sit back on their lazy welfare collecting butts and watch their rights and freedoms be slowly reduced to nothing.
My $0.02

I'm just hope enough wake up in this next election to put the breaks on this. I think the health care situation has rattled some chains. When they grab your wallet, it gets your attention. Frank...

Not around here. All the drive-in Hot Shopes and The large icecream drive-ins are gone. We use to drive from one to the other even though they were maybe 15 miles apart. We would be playing our favorite music on the radios and tapping the gas to hear those glasspacks blare. Hay,I even had cutouts on my exhaust.
Hay, my V8 Ford could outrun any of those 6 cylinder police cruisers. Those were the days. Frank...

I worked all through high school and it was getting expensive to cruise town,, We still did it though! Can you imagine these kids getting 10 gallons of gas to cruise for a night,, maybe 20 for the weekend at 60 to 80 bucks? I imagine that is the reason they don't do it. It is probably alot cheaper to get into a lot more trouble than cruising.

That was just another way to learn socialization skills, interacting with many other teens and learning to get along. And when to draw the line.

But, who needs that! Besides, dad will by the latest 50$ video slasher game and they could play that without any human interaction whatsoever, What could possibly go wrong with that? Maybe if they get good enough at it they will want to take what they feel are a new skill set to a target rich environment?

Hay, back in the 50's I made .35 an hour as a soda jerk after school, but gas was only .25 a gallon. You got two friends together and they pitched in a buck a piece so you could cruise all night. The good old days Frank...

Frank, I agree with you but it would seem most have reverted to a "second childhood" totally. ME- ME- ME all the time without letup and none for the actually starving needy CITIZENS. I fear the "throne of Rome" is for sale to the highest bidder, and it's a shame.....

I'm gonna call crap on this.

If you had served you would understand that violence is the last resort, unless you were a REMF.

So if you DID serve, tell everyone here what it is like to wake up screaming in the middle of the night in a cold sweat.

I still see their faces, do you?

I own many firearms, but they pale in comparison to one thing, This very thing has changed the course of many countries, whether by their choice or not. Can you guess what it is?

YOU understand nothing.

I think we have gotten to the point where people rely on other sources rather than themselves. It goes from top to bottom. It has gotten to the point where people can not get along without help and this goes all the way from welfare at the bottom to the smart phones at the top. We use to have our memory in our heads, now it's in the clouds. Don't let that term 'clouds' fool you, it is in someone else's electronic storage. In other words you have lost total control of it. Come to think of it, they were the good old days. Frank...
