Often it seems like when I try and use the pinpoint feature on my MD I get a constant tone. I had this issue with my Prizm 4 and now with my Fisher F2. Is it something like the mineral content of the soil?

My Whites DFX does this from time to time, if you have the option, just lift the coil and re-ground
balance the machine and it should clear up.
Not sure what causes this....
Hope this helps.
Im pretty sure that I have read that when you turn it to pinpoint mode, if your coil is "right above" the target you are trying to pinpoint, it will automatically reject that target as if its not there... maybe that is what is happening. Next time you pinpoint, swing your coil a couple feet to the left or right, turn pinpoint mode on, and sweep over the target.
