problen with my Carrot...

It's about 2 years old, started acting up today. Turn it on, locate target and set it aside, about 5-10 seconds later starts frantically beeping. One short push of the on-off button will silence it, but just start yelling again after a few moments. Hope there's a fix for this, these things ain't cheap.

Perhaps the battery is of low voltage, try replacing. Could the area be of high iron content? If not, a trip to Garrett may be in order.

The battery was new, so I first put a piece of double sided tape on the back of the battery, still falsed. Then I immersed the small end of the carrott in boiling water for 30 seconds, then set it upright for several hours. It works fine now, must have had some moisture in it.
