Prof. Long's Magnetic Comb

Back in 1982 I started detecting with my Dad. We were only interested in digging old and silver coins. Relics didn't even cross my mind. At an old school where I dug a large cent I dug this relic. It was cool enough to save, so I did. It was already beat up pretty badly but I managed to add a few scratches to it for good measure ;D

I haven't detected since 1984 and I just regained interest due to all the cool stuff I see you guys finding on the Forum. Just got a Fisher F70 and can't wait for the snow to melt and the ground to thaw.

Cool find! Made from 1890-1940 out of ALUMINUM. Couldn't have been very magnetic.

Doing research on the one I found today, and mine's in far worse shape. But cool none the less.

tom n2cu, interesting item there. Thanx for posting. Reckons back to the time when patent medicines and miracle cure snake-oil type devices were selling to the un-informed (I guess some things never change, eh ? haha)
