Unfortunately I didn't have a camera back then. I do think I have photo copies
of them from when My brother sold some on EBay for me.
But may be a task finding them.
My highest selling price was a quart Size Lebanon Valley Pilsner.
Had holes rotted in it & the seam was gone, but it received close to $80.00
from someone from NY. I heard he as very happy with it. must have been rare.

KAIER's are sayd to Be extremely Rare, & Valuable. I believe this as they were few & far between & in the worst shape

These are the ones I kept

I know I sold Iron City cans, don't remember if any were cones.
or the ones you Punctured with a "Church Key"

And MT. Dew cans like this did good

<img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=858797"/>

Most were sold to a Breweriana dealer at a local Farmers Market.
He bought them as fast as i could dig them and show up.
even without seams still in them.
as he said they still look good in displays :laughing7:

I like the mountain dew can, how old is it?

Hey Jeff,

Thanks. Consider me soil envious. The dirt just eats the cans, zinc lids, et al, in these parts. I've found but one cone in the farthest high desert of the Northwest. It is a lovely brown rust finish from crown to base, inside and out. I've read of the miraculous acid restorations, but this one, I think, is a complete goner. I've dug a handful of steel cans where a tiny window of color or logo was still visible, duly noted and later returned to hole.

Mother Nature does occasionally color etch the glass in delightful fashion.

I have never found a decent can in Dry soil.

My best cans come from mud so thick it was like Axle Grease.
with a bit of effort I could dig arms length while laying in the mud
on my side & retrieve cans.

As the lake bottom dried up in the sun, it cracked all over.
you could on occasion look in these cracks & see cans.
But the longer the ground sat Drying the faster the cans Rotted
from the air getting in the cracks.

Was a mad scramble to detect them in Fresh Mud, & get them out before
Hell or high water :laughing7: eventually high water & the lake now being a County Park :(
has ended that spot. :(

1965 - Pepsi unveils the "Ya-Hooo!" Mountain Dew promotion. At this time, the Mountain Dew label is redesigned to be more humorous, featuring Willy the Hillbilly and the phrase "It'll tickle yore innards!" Pepsi also orders all distributors of Mountain Dew to stop using their names on them.

1973 - Pepsi completely alters Mountain Dew's packaging, abandoning the "hillbilly" look and changing the logo for the first time since the drink's creation to appeal to a "younger, outdoorsy generation."

so circa '69 ?

I actually find pretty good cans alongside roadside pullovers - they are really brown when found...but a soak the acid makes them look much better....

found this one today...

Both cans you found are from the 1970's . They might be worth $2.00 each . The old flat tops and cone tops are worth collecting . I collected beer cans back in the 1980's . My friends and I would dig them up in the Sierras .

I love finding vintage cans. A good sign of past usage and increased likelihood of Silver finds.

I live in the southeastern U.S. Billy Carter (and his famous brother, former President Jimmy Carter) were from Plains, Georgia, which is only a couple of hours from here. I see Billy Beer cans (usually unopened) frequently at estate auctions. A couple of months ago, I saw a whole case of them. If I remember correctly, that case sold for around $15.
