I found this piece last year in WV. I'm pretty sure it's an artifact that has been ground into this shape. There's polished areas and grinding marks in some places. The material may be greenstone but I'm not positive. Got any ideas of what it may be, seen anything similar? Any opinions or comments are appreciated.

Never seen anything like that Thirty7. Can't imagine what it would be used for? Will be watching for an ID.

Thanks for the comments. You have to hold this piece in your hand to feel the workmanship, pictures just don't do it any justice.

Could it be a small pestile? Looks like it would work really well for mashing small food items..even seems to have some wear on the large offset end. :dontknow: :dontknow:

Whatever it is, it looks like if would feel just as smooth as silk.
