Pyramid shaped rock

This was found in southern Illinois along the Wabash river, 1 mile south of Mount Carmel. Canā€™t figure out what it is or what it was used for. Itā€™s pyramid shaped, one side a bit longer than the other.

Hey bro, welcome. I'd say that's a natural formation based on the smoothed, water-worn surface. I don't see any evidence of alteration by man. Nor does it resemble any tool that I know of that shape. Keep at it though. This is a great hobby.

hey wired! welcome. great job with the pictures for your first post. i've never personally seen a natural rock form or be altered that way by nature. i look forward to what more experienced people have to say.

I have a pyramid rock also, have never posted it because pics donā€™t do it justice and people will tell me itā€™s just a rock, which is understandable.

I agree with tumbling media. Worked in a machine shop for years and have seen a lot of similar pyramid deburring media.
