Query Iron Age Bronze horse fitting.

Found this today. I believe it is an early piece and would like help to fully ID please. I found a small late Bronze Age founders hoard in the same field years ago and other Bronze Age finds in adjacent fields. This new find was only about 30 metres from the hoard spot. I have started to revisit old productive sites. I know post medieval horse trap fittings have a screw base whereas this is plain and slightly hollow. It doesn't appear to be machine made. Nice dark brown patina can be seen. It was found in peat soil .thanks for looking.

Hi Matt, seen them described as rein guides. You're right in that the later ones were threaded. Hope yours is older :thumbsup:
