Question about dumping and wrappers -

Ok did my first 2 boxes of halves today for a total of ONE 1967 - dumped first bank in a TD coin machine, but bag filled up at $100. worth!! :o The girl had to come out and keep swapping bags - I apologized over and over, she wasnt mad, but I felt stupid - I kinda figured since boxes come in $500 and you can get bank bags of $500, that that's what the machine would hold. So I don't really want to be a nuisance and wear out my welcome at this branch as it is right by my house - but what to do? Dump $100 in each machine and move to next branch? (2 machines in my main branch) Do you all re-wrap the coins in wrappers and deposit in your accounts? Does anyone know WHERE I can order wrappers for halves, cause the tellers sure dont? And lastly, for those of you cycling through $3k or more a week of halves, how the heck do you dump them all, if not in machines??

Thanks all - any advice is appreciated!

Find a bank with a counter that fills $500 bags, I just can't imagine re-wrapping large quantities of coins.

I get $1k a week in halves.

When I pick them up I am escorted to the vault (to heavy for teller to carry) and they let me pick them up. In my bank the clear plastic money bags are laying right there by the stcaks of coin boxes...so every couple of weeks I say...Do you mind if I grab a couple of bags? They always say go ahead.

Each bag holds $1k of halves...so both of my boxes fit in there. That is how I take them back. I seal them up...take them back...sit them on the vault floor and leave with my next two boxes.

They don't even check the bag or access my account. Its just a straight up swap. They haven't accessed my account since I started doing this...just swap the bag for the boxes and keep going.

Guess I am lucky??

I must admit, that is one sweet setup!

Coinstar machines are nice too if you dont have to pay the fees. CU has one, no fees for members and there is no bag to fill up. Other machines around here hold 1k so I try not to dump more than 1k at a time. Usually around 700-800 dollars and on to the next one or save them for next week. Every once in a while I will roll some up and take them to banks where I know local searchers hit often. Its my little present for them to keep them on their toes.

Wow. Half bag fills at $100? Didn't know there was such a thing. I just assumed all were $1000.

one bank i have gone to used to have a really good machine, that i guess had multiple bags, so it would fill up at $4,000.00! then they got a new machine & i think it fills up at $500ish too. :(

This is where I get my wrappers for all denominations:

http://www.banksupplies.com

My CU does not accept bagged coins and they have no counter. If you take in enough coins to fit in a wrapper, then they have to be wrapped. The only problem I had with the site above is that they like to send a catalog every month. I asked them to stop and it stopped. YMMV.

Get yourself a Credit Union account with a free coinstar. All the machines I've encountered hold 1000 bucks.
TD's counters although free are notorius for short changing customers. I read about it in the newspapers a couple of times.

I open the ones I dont spend with a nut picker to run around the edges then search put back in wrapper and dump . Always take around 50 dollars out for sure for gas r neccessities so I know when I take to my dump bank brinks wont just redirect the entire box cause I think they are on the same route but not sure.

ahh, forget the machines, just re-wrap. I go through 6-8 boxes a week and rewrapping doesn't take that much time...
