I use the tip back. When you are going straight down it is easier to hold.

Thats kinda what I was thinking, but was wondering if the 90 degree handle might be easier to go deeper.

I have used the 20 degree tipped back handle and love it. At times I have switched and used my buddy Toothpick's 90 degree handle stealth and hated it. The 20 degree tipped handle just seems more comfortable to me, but either version will get deep enough. The scoop is outstanding and indestructible and Sunspot is a great company with great customer service

The 20* is much better when you have to really push the point of the scoop into the sand with force, cause you can grab the handle better without over extending your arm and loose balance.

I use the 20 degree handle. If your pushing your scoop straight down that 20 degrees keeps that handle closer to you. No complaints about mine. Make sure you get the carbon fiber handle too. Well worth it if you can afford it.

I have a 90 degree stealth scoop! I was on Texas coast and think I hit an old pier post and snapped my handle right at the scoop! They sent me another one straight away! The 20 may be better but if you have a 90 it's not bad! You can scoop 24" of sand in 3 scoop! They are stellar scoops!

I use the 20 degree 920 extreme and love mine. It is the perfect size and the angle works great for me.

The "Raptor" handle is a must have especially if you have the 920i. A full bucket of wet sand feels like 25 lbs. You'll prevent damaging your wrist lifting a full bucket of wet sand out of the hole. I have the 1 and 3/8" wooden handle and was able to attach raptor handle without using supplied SS screw. I got the stronger brace pkg. Truly, an amazing scoop

The 20 degree is actually easier to get deep. I've had both and prefer the 20 degree angle

Get out there chin deep...... then ask. In deeper water you almost have to snorkel for a target with a 90 degree. In closer ..... either will do, but i prefer a 20 degree. Keeps the handle close.... thou IMO you do loose more targets that are pushed out of the scoop with the 20. You tend to dig straight down with the 90 as well.... taking in a lot of sand and that wears on you, the scoop, and handle over time.

I have both and prefer the 90 degree when doing deeper(this is up out of the water on wet sand). It is actually easier to lift successive scoops up out of the deeper holes and it empties out easier with a little "bounce" on the handle.

I use the 920 also. I found I didn't have to bend over as far to scoop and dump. The 90 works a bit better in the water for sifting however. Stuff is less likely to fall out.

I have both. I like the 90 better. However, I have the 20 with the travel handle and I use it more.

I went into sticker shock seeing the prices on these, but when you have them in hand you can see why.
They are the Rolls Royce of scoops, no question about it.

I would pass on the carbon handle personally, $10 home depot rake handle just as good IMO.
