question bout Garrett sea hunter mark 11

Just got a sea hunter. On the outside of battery compartment ther is a big rubber grip. When i replaced the batt last night, i tightened plastic lid. Then i stuck the rubber grip on. It is loose and will pop off with the 1st wave in the surf. Does anyone know how the outside grip is supposed to be attached to batt compartment so it wont fall off?

Garrett has an online instruction manual. Perhaps you have it on backwards or it should be in place before you close the battery door?

When you put the detector body in the cloth holder the bottom strap holds the rubber cover securely. No problems, I've used it for MANY hours without it ever coming off.

You are assuming he is hip mounting it.
