That buckle in the 4th pic looks like a Civil War knapsack buckle,,,,cool find!!!

That looks like a great spot, and an untouched one. I love the bell! Those leather mounted sleigh bells of that particular style are much harder to find than the usual American round single slot sleigh bell. As you probably know, your's were strung by size just like the more common sleigh bells were. Although I've plucked over thirty sleigh bells over the years I've only found one like your's which might say something about rarity. Mine's a tiny one in comparison, but the same leather mount.
