I thought I had to work a double shift tonight and didn't have my detecting gear set up at all. Called my boss and found out I didn't have to be there for the extra shift after all - but by that time I didn't have any time left for a good trip to one of my spots. Ended up hitting my dependable "savior" spot and gave it a quick hunt for about 40 mins.

I found a couple wheats and a nickel from the 1940's. Also a nice looking buckle with what looks like pearl inlay. About 8 inches down I found an interesting Boy Scout token made by the Excelsior Shoe Company in 1910 - From what I have read, these were given away with each pair of "official" Boy Scout shoes sold. Lots of other misc. junk and to top it off - (and I laughed when I found out what it was) - an old condom tin! LOL :-[ ..Sorry if that photo upsets anyone.

Now I'm off to work and looking forward to the weekend when I can hunt at length instead of having to always check my watch!!

Hope everyone has great luck and thanks for reading!! :icon_thumright:

I'm not sure I'd want to be using the Merry Widows. Selected and Tested??? I'd be leary of a pre-tested condom LOL.

:laughing7:

Your finding some neat and assorted items up there. Keep it up!

3 Merry widows.
When these first came out, they cost .50 cents.
A good chunk of change then.
Some speculate where the name derived, possibly from them men who inveted them running around on their wives. Possibly rarely at home. Hence "Merry" widows.

Did you know? :dontknow:

Most condom failures are due to misuse. This has led some researchers to suggest age-appropriate sex education that includes how to use a condom properly. A 1994 FHI study showed that most condom users rarely experience condom breakage and/or slippage.[1] According to the World Health Organization, condoms currently have a failure rate of three percent at twelve months, when used properly and consistently :laughing9:

Now you know
;D
