Well, got out of work and even though there were other things that I SHOULD have done I decided to got to a local park and do a little huntin. Got about 45 minutes in before I couldnt see well enough to continue. Here what I found:

Piece of fence wire
A metal letter T that appears to be from a keychain.
A 2003 Nickel

A 1914 Wheat Penny.

I find it odd that both the penny and nickel were about 4 inches down.

Haven't seen one of your posts yet, so let me take the time to welcome you to the forum.

Any 1910's coin in my book is a good find.

Congratulations,

Good deal on the wheat penny. Depending on soil conditions old as well as new can be at the same depth. Clay will stop a coin dead in its tracks(from sinking further). My grandmother's house the clay was only about 2 inches down. All the clad as well as mercs, buffalo nickels, wheats were all at the same depth.
