Well good luck with it, I hope you find some good stuff.

Just don't use a shovel in a public space to dig your finds, unless you have written permission.

A small digging garden tool will take a few minutes longer to dig, but keep you from getting in crap from other detectorists.

Good luck. A lot of the best targets I have ever dug could have been found with the simplest machines. Go slow, that's the secret.

The first detector I ever swung was a Tracker IV. I dug every signal it hit on. Found some interesting items with it around my yard! Happy hunting!

BH made numerous detectors for radio Shack.
I picked up the RS version of the BH Land Star for 25 bucks a few years ago. For 25 bucks it's a damn nice machine.
I don't use it anymore but it still works perfectly and it's a great machine when I take kids out hunting.

Nothing wrong with the older BH machines. They don't hunt real deep but they will find treasure.
