There was that famous Gulf of Mexico pirate, Jose Gnomepar, who raided a leprechaun's treasure chest of Lucky Charms and buried the chest on Captiva Island, which to this day, has never been found.
Tampa holds a Gnomeparilla Day, when the entire town dons Gnomewear for a swim in Tampa Bay.
It is rumored that AARC was the first to conceive of this event while informing a Jackalope that Trix are for kids.
Of course this is just Florida gnomelore, and possibly not true.
