Some recent finds from my neck of the woods (independence, mo). In a rich "civil war" era area, so curious what some of these random things may be. The toasty coin is a missouri sales tax token. The eagle pin seems like a design that's been used since as early as the 1880's, so no telling what it was actually used for. The buckle looking thing with rivets, no idea what that may be. Doesn't look that old though, even though it was found in the same area as civil war bullets and other 1840's items. The "hinge" doesn't look old, but I thought the numbers on the back were interesting. A quick google search with the numbers didn't come up anything for me. And what might that large brass thing be? Pretty interesting...and heavy.

Thanks everyone...

If the hinge is heavy and brass, it "might" be from an ice box.

I found one and that is the ID that came back.

Congrats on all of the goodies!

I have re-done a few wood ice boxes in the past and this is exactly like the hinges on every one that I have done.

Thanks for the verification on the ID. Here is a pic of the one I got, I tumbled it with the other brass object to get it all cleaned up.

As there on numbers on the back of mine, does anyone know of a database of these parts so I could identify the year/make/model?

Thanks...
