Wouldn't metal on the coil cause the unit to give a positive signal to the detector?

just don't get the magnets close to your billfold as it will erase your credit cards. Don't ask me how I know. jmho. rwd mo

I was thinking of the ceramic type of rare earth magnet.
Then again all the black sand would build up and give me more problems.
Probably not a good idea.

RE: Earth magnets-These seemingly small little fellas have potential to mess up your detector. To the point
repairs men parts replacement. I use them in prospecting from 8 to 50lb pull. Magnets regarding credit cards:
rearrange(scramble) the pixels on the strip. When I discoverd what was stored on these strips on Texas D/R
I left mine in my shoe while having a MRI done:occasion14:
