The copper factory is still open. Found 4 toasty largies after work today. I think my previous record was three for one hunt. Also got another KGIII and an 1876 IHP. There are two sites in this field but I have found all 9 of the largies, the half cent and two colonial coppers at one site and only two more colonial coppers at the other. Best site I have ever found for large cents even though it has failed to produce a period silver:(

Could you make out the dates?

Could you make out the dates?

I think 8 of them are Matron/Coronet head so 1820s and 30s. Only a few have good dates. The 9th one is slick but I think its a draped bust. Gotta be bust or Spanish silver out there you would think:dontknow:

Love the old coppers, congrats! :occasion14:

oh there is silver out there, you just have your detector tuned to copper ;) great finds!

Awesome finds! Love those LC's! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: Nice IHP too. Silver just has to be there!

Absolutely utterly sickening.

:laughing7:The toasted condition of farm field coppers is what is sickening to me and the fact that I havnt found an old silver here

Great day with the detector .Even if you don't find any silver you have a great spot to keep trying

Thanks. Silver or not I will definitely keep trying. Its the only new field Ive got this year anyway

I handful of large dirty green discs always brings tears to my eyes. That is a pretty sight. Congrats.

Nice !! Look like the coppers I find--fertilizer, cow poo, plows really take a toll on them- but love finding them :occasion14:

Oh I got more than that last night ....'In a dream'.

I'm still hunting my 1st LC / Copper in almost 20 years of detecting.
