Hi folks. Got out today and hunted a huge field for about 2 hours. Not much found except for the cast piece that might be a different style reins guide and a broken crotal. I don't know. I am used to the ones with the threaded stud as the attaching method. This one appears to have maybe been bradded on to something. As you can see from the first pic though, it was used for quite awhile as the inside left hand side of the rounded part is well worn. It is much thinner from use than the rest of it. Anyway, if you know, by all means, please enlighten me. Thanks!

Hey OD. Glad to see that you got out for a little hunt

It looks like a bent up reins guide with the stud busted off of the bottom. I found 2 guides this year, and both were tweaked, and the studs were bent or broken. I guess people were rough with the buggies, and sometimes knocked the guides off of them... just like people tear cars up today.

GL&HH!

Thanks RN, that sure looks to be the same! I knew it attached to something rounded and your pic shows just that!

Thanks Tom. I hate hunting the huge fields, but I wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone and exercise the dogs a bit too. This one sits no where near a busy road so I was able to let them play for a couple hours. This is my second guide of the year too. The first one was different than the usual plain ones too.

I think Relic Nut is on to something with his ID. Sure looks the same. Nice find Dave. Good to see you have an extended season this year. Very mild winter so far.
