Info on your Crotal Bell :icon_thumright:

http://www.classicbells.com/Info/bellMakers.html

'William Barton was listed as an "artificer" in an early census. (3) He may possibly have been making sleigh bells as early as the 1790s in New York state. (6) He is best known, however, for the bells he produced in East Hampton, Connecticut, in the early 1800s.'

Decor piece is half of a late Victorian sash buckle.

Some cool stuff. I dug a token like that at a precivil war house site several years ago. The flat piece of brass is part of a 2 piece ladies buckle. I'm thinking mid to late 1800's. I think the other brass piece is part of a candle snuffer.

Thanks, I actually had this site bookmarked from you when you replied to a different post a few years ago :laughing9: It has come in very handy dating all the bells ive found. The candle snuffer was something i didnt think of, ....i wish the token was dated, but all my research points to aprox. 1837.
thanks everyone,
Pro-
