Desert prospectors are breaking out their snake gaiters (leggings). Cabela's carries some good ones, which I use, ever since a friend got nailed by a Mojave Green in AZ.

Iv'e seen two already this year, one two weeks ago which seems really early, your rattlers out here are lazy. I grew up with prairie rattlers that always sounded off - the ones out here you have to practically step on.

Good advice. I saw a rattler earlier today, he slithered away from me and I just caught the tail end of him. If you're in rattlesnake country It's probably a good idea to sweep your detector as far in front of you as you can get and always keep your eyes and ears open.
