I don't know why but when I hold these I get the sense that they are not as old as they look. They seem to be made out of copper. Back is stamped "D. Evans & Co No Attleboro Mass"

Can anyone help date these for me. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

WW ll uniform coat button. so many of these made it back home from service, as the officers wore thier uniforms home.

No offense intended, but I must post a correction -- those US Army "Great Seal Of The United States" buttons which have a "black finish" date strictly from the World War One era to 1923. Before and after that time-period, they had the usual brass/bronze/gold-plated finish.

By the way, the "black finish" is NOT a paint. It is a version of anodizing.

I also have many of these buttons and some kind of clips in the box did they use these clips to attach to the uniform?
