I went back to the sidewalk ripout in the center of town today and yesterday. Yesterday i got two nice indian heads. One looks to be 1897 the other is def. 1900. Anyways i went back today and got a few goodies. I was there about 5 min when i looked down and saw a coin right on top of the dirt. I bent down and got a nice 1904 V nickle, without even the metal detector. I followed that with a few wheaties and some junk. I was scaning right near the new sidewalks and got a hit. I almost didnt dig it thinking it was rebar in the new sidewalk. Glad i did. Out pops a cool looking button. Its either a button or a clasp. I think it is silver, but im not sure. It has some kind of a mark which i got in a picture, And it also has the word PLATA near the center of the disk. The front features a figure with a sumbrero on a donkey. Any info on this would be great.
Thanks for lookin
Keith

Cool finds. I've been waiting for some sidewalk tearouts in my town. "Plata" means silver in spanish.

solves that question. LOL thats good news. hope somones nows what it is

Hey Yougotit, awsome finds love that burro and sombrero wearer!! Looks like some turqoise in it also? Some kind of stone or jewel That thing shined up nice and bright!!! 2IH's and a V nickle dude you had a excellent hunt!!! HH Tom

That silver is awesome. Looks like it was designed to screw onto something...probably a non-invasive lapel pin...the pin portion should be bent over to allow the post to screw down onto your lapel...or something like that!

Hi There!
The coins were great, but I love the silver "earring". I think the post is just bent down. Looks like one of the old screw type earrings, from the good ole days. Anyways, very nice finds!!!

We love looking at found Indians in any condition! Great finds!

The silver thing is a ladie's earring for non-pierced ears, slightly bent. The screw thing is tightened up against the earlobe to hold the earring in place.

ohh man that is some nice finds, cant go wrong with those side walk tearouts

awesome job

That's the first thing I thought, an earing, my grandma used to wear the screw type.
That's a great find, coins too. Congrats..

Molly.

Awesome finds, Keith. I have to agree with the ladies with it being a screw back earring...a nice one too. Congrats on your finds.
