Hi gang.
It has been a very long time since I have been here on the site.
But now I am back.
I am going to QuartzVille in 2 weeks for 3 days and I find myself in need of advice.

Pictures speak a 1000 words. What should I look for to identify a good spot to dig for my sluice box.
I need some good material for me and my buddy (he is a first time panner)

Ustiger.

Which Quartzville are you going to? There are several in the western states.

Somewhere on the recreational corridor, I would assume, since the townsite is on private land.

I went last weekend, this picture is from the last day using a sluice. Cleaning out bedrock cracks into the gold bazooka sluice. The big lot across the river isn't bad. Good luck

That was our first time there. This spot someone had cleaned the top 6 inches or so of dirt out of a crack but didn't actually clean out the cracks so the hard part was done, we just went and scooped up the good dirt and gold.

Oh forgot to mention.....if your screening check the rocks real close. I found a nice piece with visible wire gold in it that was in my screen, about the size of a .50 cent piece......my girlfriend accidentally threw it away or else I'd post a picture, and yes we had some words about it.

That's where a good pinpointer would come in handy...
A falcon MD20 .. Pistol proe or the new white's TRX to scan all those rocks.

Sorry USTiger for hijacking your thread, let us know how you do in Quartzville, I might go up there myself if it's not too hot in a week or 2
