Got out with my buddy Rick again today and had to work for the finds. We did manage to get a few keepers up, Rick making find of the day and runner up.
My finds were a completely toasted copper, half cent size and an 1816 Brock half penny token. Also a couple of musket balls and a pair of nice tombac buttons along with the other odds and ends.
Oh yea and a whatisit. thingy that has the letter L on it. Anyone have an idea as to what it is?
HH everyone,
ZDD

I would have stayed home, but hey if it is not too wet for him, it can't be too wet for me.
It was a bit bit messy.

It seems that lately I always have to cancel my Sunday dives due to weather and then I make up for it and go detecting....in the rain.

Today I would have detected in a wet suit lol
If I'm making good old finds the weather doesn't matter too much
Nice to see your persistence paid off

pictures #3 and#4 are half of a type of hose clamp, they came with what is called a bossnut, kinda like a jic hydralic fitting, bolts went through the holes and that clamped it to the hose and the ends that are sort of turned over fit into a groove on the bossnut as added protection to keep the fitting from blowing apart

Nothing wrong with those finds Dave. At least you were able to get out. I spent the whole weekend on the road on non-detecting activities. Hopefully I can start getting out soon, but a lot of fields have yet to be cut.

Yeah, I know. :headbang:

If I had sites like that I'd be out to dig too, regardless of the weather.

I remember a post from Nov. 11 / 11 where three guys were hunting in sideways rain. Was titled "the Good the Bad, and the Ugly"

That was an interesting site we were on and boy what a view there, it was enjoyable despite the rain.
I know what you are saying about non-detecting days Bill, I have had quite few of those lately myself. But now it's back to digging, with the fields getting cut and harvested it's time to get busy.

Thanks for the ID BigScott, you nailed it. Now I have to find the rest of it, I have some hydraulic lines that need repair.:laughing7:
Good luck with your hunts,
