Interesting sight. A few questions come to mind, but it's "not my biznus."

I looked again, and he DOES have solar panels. Great idea. I got distracted by Doreen's Saloon, and thought a cold beer would be good.

.Believe it or not, about five minutes after this guy rode out of site, another fellow with a long beard came out of the grocery store. He was wearing authentic mountain man buckskins, pistol and knife....He walked over to the sidewalk and looked up and down the street...I thought maybe he was looking for the fellow on the horse....I asked him if there was one of those mountain man rendezvous going on nearby...He said " No, I dress like this everyday. " Said he knew who the other guy was...........

When I got home doing an internet search, I found this man was the one I talked to outside the store... https://inland360.com/.../north-idaho-man-living-like.../

Living in the wilds, without the modern stuff we take for granted is fulfilling, but tough. I did it for 2 years west of Sandpoint, Idaho '71, '72, on 15 acres. Did not wear buckskins, used modern firearms. kerosene lamps, hauled water from a nearby creek, wood for heat and cooking, cut and split 10-12 cords of firewood each summer. Also built a small 1 1/2 story house the first summer. I was 17, my Dad was a bit crazy, I think. My mother was of pioneer stock. Who knew?

Neat pictures. I especially like the electric pack horse.
I wonder if this guy is a packer for the Forest Service?
